Haiti Prays & Keeps Going!

The masses pray at the broken-down presidential palace in Port-au-Prince, Haiti

President Rene Preval wipes tears.

Presidential palace - before and after

The USN Comfort Ship

Port-au-Prince airport.  Huge cargo planes like the one I rode back on to the USA.

Medical evacuations have begun again!

A mass grave!

Making a home for herself - but the rain has come!

Mud cookies to sell to the poor.  Made of dirt, salt and vegetable shortening, the cookies were already one of very few options for the poorest in Haiti even before the devastating Jan. 12 earthquake.

Healthier food for those who can afford it.

Sugarcane flies!  Not so healthy!

Caught stealing.  See how they are tied together.

Moving a safe.

A bad crack on a road in Leogane.

A boy still plays!

Children still jump!

A balloon from a surgical glove!

Hi, I found your blog right after the earthquake & have appreciated being able to "see" a little of what it is like in Haiti. I was just curious what are "mud cookies?" Surely they don't just use any old mud?, everyone that eats them would get sick! :-/ It is so Awesome how many medical teams GMC has been able to send! We have been praying for the missionaries & teams as they minister to the people.
